When everyone in Brazil is excited about Rio de Janeiro getting to host 2016 Olympics, how could have Google Brasil missed the celebration? It was quick to have the statue of Jesus Christ looking over Rio on its Brasil homepage.

Getting featured on Google homepage has become a yardstick for importance of events and personalities. On 2 October, Google had Mahatma Gandhi on some of its sites.
